Postage Stamps with Bob Beall
Bob Beall, the Stamp Man, will bring a large selection of U.S. postage stamps to sell at face value, these are all usable to send mail. Those attending this meeting should bring cash or checks to pay for the stamps. It will be exciting to see what he has and how we can incorporate them with our calligraphy and have our own “graceful envelopes" to delight family and friends as well as the mail sorters and carriers. The Stamp Man will set up his many boxes of stamps, step back and let everyone go crazy, looking, laughing and enjoying his "millions" of stamps. He is willing to answer all sorts of questions about the stamps and he is very knowledgeable. Come and enjoy this unique program.

March 3-4, 2011 SECOND WORKSHOP (Maybe)
If there is enough interest we will schedule a second workshop with Carrie. To do so we will need at least 10 more people to sign up before February 18, 2011. Currently we have two. So if you're interested and don't want to miss out on this special event contact Diane Hutt via email at Programs@CapitalCalligraphers.orgMark your calendar for this two-day workshop taught by Carrie Imai, United States and international calligraphy instructor. Come and enjoy this very fun class. It is doable for all levels, so if you are a newer calligrapher feel free to attend. If you are more experienced, don't despair, Carrie will go into some advanced techniques. Carrie is used to having a large range of expertise, so this will be enriching for everyone. Below are some examples of Carrie's work.

Capitals and Letter Forms with Lori Festa
Here is an opportunity to sharpen your skills to be ready for writing names at the different fairs the guild is invited to attend. It is much appreciated when we volunteer. Also, it is an excellent way to lighten up and simply enjoy writing. Children love having their names done and even if the effort doesn't always look good in our eyes they like it!
There will also be the election of officers for 2011-2012
